OUR MOTTO

One person is held together by what holds more people together.

The Thalassa House Institute of Psychotherapy and Psychiatric Rehabilitation provides a complex psychotherapy program for young adults and adults within a therapeutic community framework.

ABOUT

Thalassa means "sea" in Greek.

Sándor Ferenczi, the creator of the Hungarian psychoanalytic school, formulated the similarities between the sometimes turbulent, wild waves whipping and then calming the sea itself and the unexpected changes of the human soul. However, the storms in the depths of the human soul must be often calmed down by skillful "divers" who understand them, revealing their secrets to help create harmony.

HOW WE WORK

We meet for the first time in an interview.
with our future patients.

Our goal is to support the most complete mental-relational (psychosocial) rehabilitation. It is burdensome for many to accept that they can only deal with the symptoms of their illness if we care a lot about the painful or obscure areas of their relationship life (by movement, music, painting) and many, many conversations. During our time in our institute, our patients can experience that they can get out of the learned helplessness and thus become active shapers of their lives.

After the first interview, our professional team decides on the admission, the form of care (residential care or daytime sanatorium) and the date of admission. After the admission, our patient coordinates the framework of the cooperation with the future therapist, and the forms of therapeutic activities are recorded.
